• Anemia: aplastic (when the bone marrow produces too few red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets), hemolytic (when red blood cells are destroyed very quickly), iron deficiency (when it lacks iron), megaloblastic (presence of very large red blood cells in the blood), sickle cell (when there is an abnormality in hemoglobin).
• Bleeding disorders: hemophilia (hereditary, when constant bleeding occurs that cannot be stopped), idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (abnormal decrease in the number of platelets).
• Leukemias, lymphomas or other types of blood cancer.
